Puppet Palooza

Georgia is in love with her puppet kit from her Great Aunt Pat (thanks Aunt Pat!). She of course wanted to do them all at once. I'm always amazed by her concentration and love of building things. Who knew puppet making was just serious business!

Standing Man

Quinn is the mighty standing man. He is totally into pulling himself up, standing on his own and trying to creep around things. However, he is still the fastest crawler on the West Coast. I think that will be his default for a couple more months at least.

Georgia and Jackson

Georgia has a good friend named Jackson. She inherited him through what I call a third generation friendship. Jackson's Daddy and myself were friends growing up. Our mama's were friends prior to that. It is no surprise Jackson and Georgia get along so well...it is in their genes!

Georgia hates to get dressed. Sometimes we don't pick that battle. Here she is in her pearls eating meatballs naked. So Georgia.

Of course Rocky is close by in case she leaves her post. So Rocky.

Help with the laundry

Georgia loves to help me with the laundry. Tonight she was helping me put the clothes from the washer to the dryer. I would hand her an item from the washer and she would put it in the dryer. What cracked me up tonight was that she had to smell and comment on each item before putting it in the dryer.

Deep sniff: "That's my blanket!...I miss it" Cheek on the blanket, rubbing the satin trim

Deep sniff: "That's Quinny's sheet!"

Long deep sniff with her eyes closed: "That is a sock"

Deep sniff:"That is my pants"

Every once in awhile she would stick her head in the dryer and call "hello?!"

Needless to say, the laundry was not done quickly. :)

Who is that in the mirror? He has teeth!

Quinn has three teeth coming in! Two on the bottom and one on the top. We think another top tooth is about to break the surface. As a result, he is a drooly drooly mess. More drooling than Rocky even!














Quinn loves looking at himself in the closet door mirrors in his room. He tries to wrestle, headbang, and kiss the other Quinn.












Hey Mama!

Quinn 9 months old!

Our little man is 9 months old. Besides being the happiest baby in the world, he can do a ton of amazing things. He crawls like it is an Olympic sport and eats like he is at one of those buffets where you get your food for free if you each so many pounds of something. He plays peekaboo, claps his hands, feeds himself, and is learning to use a sippy cup. He says "Mama" and "Mum Mum" and can hum in tune. He loves music, wants to touch EVERYTHING, and is learning to pull himself up on things (or on top of him in some cases). He is a total flirt and when out alone with Daddy they get stopped in the store by strangers who tell them how cute they are. He also started sleeping through the night, for which mama and daddy are so appreciative. He recently learned how to scream at ear piercing decibels for which we are less appreciative but he is totally proud of. And the few times he gets mad, boy does he get mad! He loves his sister and wants to play with her all the time. She loves him too but definitely doesn't like it when he touches certain toys.

Christmas 2010

It was a wonderful Christmas this year. Mostly because we were with many of those we care about. We are most thankful that Grandpa Kirk is on the mend. He is very much loved.


Quinn with his Great Grandpa Bud and Great Grandma Carol. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary a few days before Christmas.

Georgia Turns 3!

Is she really three years old? This wonderful, saucy, sweetheart of ours. Not afraid of much. She orders Rocky around like a little brother and isn't afraid to grab his collar and drag his 100lb body into another room to play. When somebody does her wrong she will approach them and insist on an apology, even if they are several years older. The ultimate negotiator. She wants to cuddle for "just a little bit" after we read her a story before bed. She wants to stay in the shower "just two more minutes." When I tell her that something isn't for her or she won't like it, she says "but we can try mama." When it is time to turn off the T.V. she says "just one more show" complete with holding a single index finder in the air. Social butterfly at the party and old lady at home. She loves a party and continues to be the last kid standing without crying. But she still likes everything in its place. She has a careful nature when entering new situations and we call her our little risk calculator. You have probably never seen a kid so careful with a stomp rocket. Caring and compassionate. When I tell her that she has done a good job she often says "you proud of me mama?" If someone seems upset G will ask "are you doing o.k.?" She still loves to kiss the top of Quinn's head and is super sweet with him. We live for the often uttered "I love you Daddy" and "I love you Mama." Pretending is fun. She loves dressing up, sparkles, tutus, makeup and accessories. Helping is more fun. She likes to help mama makes morning smoothies and build things with tools. True to herself. She tells jokes and loves to dance and sing even though she received the not so talented genes from her mother's side. Happy Birthday Baby!

The woman who made mama and daddy's wedding cakes made Georgia's 3rd birthday cake! Georgia wanted a purple cake and she sure did deliver!

Healthy Kids

Georgia had her 3 year well kid appt and Quinn had his 9 month. Both had their shots without tears and were very cooperative during their eye tests. Georgia actually loved her appt. She loved getting weighed and said "it's just a shot" when the nurse told her how well she did. Also, when I asked her what the Dr. saw in her ear she said "a tunnel" like that was the silliest question ever.
