Pulling herself up

I was laying on the couch speed reading the newspaper this afternoon. Georgia was playing on the rug in front of me. She started to crawl towards me. Next thing I knew, these cute little eyes were peaking above the couch seat at me. She had pulled herself up to her knees. I gave her a big smile and said "good girl!" She then pulled her legs up underneath herself and stood! She was so pleased, standing holding on to the couch and started screeching like a wild bird at the top of her lungs. She did this about a dozen times today on two different couches. I can't believe how strong she is getting!

Unfortunately our camera is still broke, so no pictures to share.

Another Inch. Another pound.

Georgia had to go to the Dr. on Friday. They were a little worried about a flat spot on her head but all is well. The big news is that she gained another inch and another pound! In just a couple of weeks. She is now 28 inches long and weighs 19lbs 2oz. Must have been that Mexican sun!

Georgia is also getting around quite well. She can easily drag herself from one room to the next and is staring to try and pull herself up on things. She particularly likes to pull books out of the bottom shelves in our living room and her room. We are hectically trying to baby proof the house. Hard thing to do when you have so many home improvement projects going on...

Still waiting for more Mexico pics from the fam... I've included a couple of others I had below.

View of our sitting area and balcony from the bed. The balcony had a jacuzzi tub, a hammock, two lounge chairs, and a table with a couple of chairs. We could have lived out there!

Mexico

We spent the last week in Mexico for Justin and Dana's wedding. It was great fun. We got to see lots of family, fished, swam with the dolphins, boogie boarded, slid down the slide at our pool, spoke poor Spanish, went to the market, and drank lots of margaritas. Our camera broke, so we didn't get many pictures but lots of promises for more. Here are a few to start with.

The view from our bathroom window. All of the rooms as Brisas Del Mar overlooked the ocean. It was great!

Mr. and Mrs. Roberts

Georgia, Brendan and I met up with my good friend Kevin from High School and his lovely new wife Emilia today. Thanks to Facebook I found out he had moved here in June! We had a great lunch and hope to see more of them!

Kevin (with half a smile) and Georgia. Already best friends.

Happy Birthday Grandma Sandy!

Georgia got to see her Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Bob when they passed through coming back from Maine on Monday. Just a couple of days before Sandy's birthday. Which is today!

Happy birthday Grandma Sandy!

Porch, pooch, and a 7 month check up

Georgia had her 7 month check up yesterday. She is 27 inches and 18lbs 2oz. Around the 69th percentile for both. Hard to believe she wasn't on the scales a mere 6 months ago. The Dr. was very pleased overall.

See the glee when she spots her good friend Rocky.

Who...me?

Oh...camera. Here is a smile.

Almost time for bed...

LT Georgia

Georgia is practicing her Army crawl skills. She would be excellent going under barbed wire.

New hippo chair

Georgia was psyched to try out her new hippo chair today. She gets to sit at the table with us!

Is that sweet potatoes I smell?

Or maybe papa's feet...

I get to use my own spoon?

Yep, that looks pretty good. Question is, hand or spoon?

Most satisfied now!

Uh oh...better work on that baby proofing thing.

In addition to madly moving herself in circles and backwards, Georgia is now dragging herself forward a couple of feet to reach things. She hasn't quite figured out how useful the legs can be but we figure this at least fits into the general category of "forward movement" if not the subordinate category of crawling.

Check out the first part of this video.

And here she is sitting up like a big girl.

And rolling around on the bed like a crazed baby.

See...crazy.

But still so adorable.

Spanish and a tutu

This morning Georgia tried on her tutu for Antie Dana's upcoming wedding and we practiced our rather embarrassing Spanish. Although she is too young to be a flower girl, Auntie Sharon and Grandma Gaye got her a special order flower girl outfit to match the big girls. We had to make sure it fit since G is getting so big.

Te amo Auntie Dana!

Mucho Bonita para tu boda.

No mas cervesas and margaritas Auntie Dana loca!

Will you tell Grandma Gaye to remember my top?
No lo tengo.

Sabroso!

Georgia Smiles

Georgia's daycare is in vacation so she and I are hanging this week.
I think she looks like Papa when she smiles.
