Maybe I'll eat the camera.

So happy to play!
Georgia is growing up. She can climb two stairs and crawls all over the house. She can stand holding onto something with one hand. She also loves to be chased my Rocky or myself. She giggles when you blow on her belly and into her ear. We are so crazy about her we can hardly stand it. Boogies and all.

What is with this hair?
Georgia got her first birthday party invite in the mail today. Thanks Paul! Even the parents get to come. We are all very excited!
See how excited Georgia is. What is with that hair anyway? It grows straight up and is a very odd color.

Big girl bath
Sadly Georgia has outgrown her little Victorian spa bath from Grandpa Kirk. She is now in the big girl bath. That is, when she will actually sit down...

Georgia's Room
I'm sure most of you know by now that in April of 2007 Brendan and I bought a house built in 1880. It has a great history and was owned by only two families in 127 years before we bought it. It is a wonderful place with a ton of character but was in desperate need of some updating. This was originally supposed to be source of weekend projects for Kara...and then, in May of 2008 (one month later), we found out we were pregnant. Needless to say, we were faced with a rather daunting situation. Baby on the way, no suitable room for it, and handy but pregnant wife who was now not supposed to play with chemicals and dangerous tools.
However, my incredible husband, who was only vaguely familiar with a hammer before this (I fondly remember a set of bookshelves he hung crashing down on our slumbering bodies 7 years ago) , cowboyed up to the challenge. Among other things, he spent the summer of 2007 learning to tear out carpet, demo old plastic paneling, hang wallboard, cut trim, and plan out ceiling tiles. He learned when to call an electrician and when to ask for help from friends, fathers, and father in laws. Perhaps the biggest challenge of all was doing it under the pressure of a sleep deprived pregnant wife, suffering from lack of oxygen and sleep depervation (aka dumb), influenced by raring horomones, going through serious nesting (yes I insisted the closet was ready before all the walls were up) and about to have a baby 8 weeks early.
In any case, although we have a little more work to do, I wanted to show you what wonderful Brendan did with our little Georgia's room.

After: Crib corner

What's for dinner? Chicken!
Georgia is getting pretty good at feeding herself. Especially if that something is some sort of meat. I don't think my girl is going to be a vegetarian. I swear she ate a whole chicken tonight.

Crawling and standing
I fixed the camera (thanks to packaging tape) and was able to get a couple shots of Georgia moving around.

All over the place
G was crawling from one side of the house to the other tonight. She definitely is getting a lay of the land
The funniest moment was when she "crawled really fast" when she heard Rocky coming up behind her.

Goodbye swing
Goodbye swing. Have to put you away until Georgia's little brother or sister comes along.

Missed my girl
I came back from a three day trip today. I swear I miss my girl more and more every time I leave. She always looks bigger when I get back too!
Georgia is really cruising now. She walks herself along the edge of the couch and some bookshelves in our office. We are tying everything down this weekend!
