California Trip

For my birthday, Georgia and I visited Grandma Gaye and Grandpa Kirk in Northern CA for 9 days. Daddy and Rocky stayed home and enjoyed their bachelorhood.

We had such a great time and took a ton of pictures. See below for our many adventures.

Georgia and I went with Grandpa to visit the Abhayagiri monastary (http://www.abhayagiri.org/). Grandpa is doing some work for the monks. Here is Georgia playing in front of one of the meditation platforms in the woods. The deer were so tame in this area. They would come very close to us and weren't afraid.

Here is the site that Grandpa is helping build on. What a beautiful view! We could see about 7 ridge lines from where we were standing.

Align CenterCousins Heath, Kara, Lilah, and Emma hosted a great family party one evening. We had fresh abalone Heath caught that morning. So tasty! Georgia had her first juice box, which I'm sure was the driving force behind her not wanting to sleep until 10:45.

Here are Georgia and Grandpa walking around the orchard.
They were BFFs the entire trip.

Grandpa showing G how to eat cherries.

Cousin Porter jumping on the musical trampoline.
Georgia loved it so much that Grandma Gaye bought her one (just arrived today).

Cousin Lilah showing G how to water the flowers with a bucket.

G playing in the playhouse with Cousin Porter.

Cousin Lilah peeking down on Georgia. They were having a great time.
I think we may have to invest in a play house.

Georgia also spent a lot of time learning how to be a ranch girl.

Here she is trying out a tractor...

Learning how to use a crop...

Riding (o.k. sitting) on her first horse (thanks for cooperating Coaltar)

Learning to call the horses to come get a treat.
We had to visit the horses and goats at this gate every day.

Learning how to feed the horses through the gate.

Gathering up the halter...

Pulling a wheelborrow...

Just hanging in the barn...

Sleeping wherever she got tired...

Using the BIG shovel...

Petting Aunt Tammy's baby hens and roosters...

I just had to post Aunt Tammy's new Hilton Chicken Coop.
Call for reservations.

Washing stuff in the sink with Grandma...
(mostly just playing in the water)

We didn't make her vaccuum...

Of course there was time to dance, even by the barn.

And lots of running....

Always holding hands with Grandpa through the rough turf.
See...BFFs

Learning to smell a flower...

And more flowers...

Learning to pick strawberries with Grandpa...

He'd wash them off in the outdoor sink.

And picking strawberries by herself...

Georgia loved the garden.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!

The Little Gardener

We put in a new patio last week and started planting yesterday. Georgia loves "helping" us garden. She is a natural.

Daddy showed Georgia how to use the spade.

And then she was off...

Digging everywhere...

See my new toy!?

What a threesome.

Georgia is learning how to "help" walk Rocky.

Looking back at Mama.

Just had to throw this cute picture in from the other day.
She is starting to look more like a little girl every day.

Purses, purses, and purses....oh my!

Happy Mothers Day!

Georgia has started taking a lot of interest in Mama's side of the closet. Today she discovered the area where all the purses are kept! She would head to the closet, pick out a purse, put it on her arm and carry it around. She would then dump it in her room and head back to Mama's closet for another one. Good thing we kept all those old purses for her to play with!

She is also talking like mad. Today Daddy was cleaning her room. Out of nowhere she turned around and said "what are yuo doin' ?..." Mama says that to her about 100 times a day...so not a huge surprise. She also said, "Daddy, come..." because she wanted him to come to her room. Crazy...
Aren't I cute?

Hiya!

Places to go...purses to look fabulous with...

Georgia is happy...she says so

Georgia is talking like crazy. Happy was her new word of the day yesterday.

She is also obsessed with animals. We went to a lake a couple of days ago and watched 10 little baby geese run around the lawn and play in the water. She wouldn't leave!

16 Month Appointment

Georgia had her 16 month appointment today. She is fabulously healthy. Weighing in at 24lbs and 6oz, she is 69th percentile for weight. At 33 inches tall, she is 96th percentile for height. Her head continues to grow and is now at the 18th percentile.

Go Georgia!

Georgia The Destroyer

Since we got up around 5:30 this morning and were showered and dressed by 6:30, we decided to head out to the beach for a picnic brunch of fish crackers, fig newtons, almonds, milk and coffee (we desperately need to go grocery shopping). The weather wasn't amiable for swimming but we had a blast playing in the sand on the empty beach.

I'm not sure about this...

Daddy, you are cute but I'm still not coming close to those waves!

Hold on! Yeah, let's mark my territory. I'll help.

Let me just fix this letter...

Daddy makes G a sandcastle....

Georgia destroys it...

Come on Mama!
