Obsessed with blankets

Georgia is slightly obsessed with blankets. Her favorite game is to lay down and have Brendan and I cover her with multiple blankets. She instructs which ones are supposed to be laid in order. After laying very still for awhile (30 seconds), she gets up and says "Mama, blankets on!" We are then asked to cover her in a different order of blankets than before. She can sometimes play this game for an hour. I like it best when she plays it by herself ;)

Blanket on!

That is a good pile.

Maybe I like this order better...

She also likes us to lay the blanket on her little dollhouse family. She lines them up in a row and instructs us on which blanket we should place on them.

Here she is joining her dollhouse family.

Thanks Mama! That was fun!

Fun with friends

With Mama on bed rest the last 4 weeks (only 7 more to go!), we've had lots of visitors and play dates. It has helped pass the time and keep Georgia busy. We are lucky to have such great friends.

Bella, G, and Emma all hanging out in tutus (Em had taken hers off)
while some mama's and papa's had wine and cheese.

Here is G hanging on the slide at Nathan and Will's birthday party.
It was in a big indoor play yard.

Here she is on the bouncing ball (which she LOVED).
It was hard to get a pics of the kids together. They were all running around.

Paul also came by for a play date.
He spilled water on his pants and had to borrow Georgia's.
We think he looks good in pink track pants.

I swear these two look like they could be brother and sister...

Regular old fun

I'm posting some pics of the last couple of weeks. Just G hanging out and having a good time.

Georgia wanted me to put her fairy costume AND purple tutu on today. She then danced in circles with her wonky eyed doll whom she dressed in snow boots and hat.

Still dancing with a CHEESE! for the camera.

Sledding on a frozen lake at her friend Bella's house.

Looking oh so gorgeous in her Mardi Gras beads.

Dressing up Mama's hand with jewels.

Daddy's slippers sure are comfortable.

Look at my pile of animals!
I love to pile them up in many places in my room.

2 Year Stats and videos

Georgia had her 2 year appt a few weeks ago. Here are her stats:
Height: 35 3/4 inches (96&)
Weight: 29.6 lbs (86%)

The Dr. said she's on track to be about 5'10" which is how tall mama would love to be herself.

Here are a couple of videos from the last few days. She is such a character.

Who knew what fun a yogurt cup could be?

Pigtails anyone?

Georgia loves wearing pigtails and barrettes. She wants them almost every morning now.

Paint anyone?

Yogurt anyone?

Oompa

Here are Daddy and G playing "Oompa" on her new big girl bed (thanks Grandpa Kirk!). For some reason Georgia requires that Daddy wear this specific pink towel on his head when they play Oompa. The whole thing is a very odd singing and dancing routine but very entertaining for Mama.

Georgia turns 2!

It is hard to believe but our little girl turned 2 years old on December 23rd. It is amazing to see how much she has grown from that 4 and 1/2 pound baby we brought home a couple of Christmases ago. She is turning into such an incredible person. We can't wait to see what the next year will bring.

The birthday girl and her rather pregnant mama.

Sentence Explosion

It is like we have a whole new daughter the last few weeks. There has been an explosion of sentences and conversations in our house. One thing is clear, Georgia has definite opinions and now knows she can express them.

"Pants fall down"
"I shut door"
"Paul, come back here"
"Rocky, no barking, good dog"
"Baby clothes on"
"No wear sweater"
"I paint hand"
"Where is Sibyl?"
"Socks off! Socks off! Socks off!"
"Go away"
"Birthday cake barrette in hair"
"My turn now"

First snow!

Last weekend we had our first snow stick. Georgia loved running around and stomping on snow bits in her new boots! It disappeared the next day :( Hopefully we get more for the holidays.

After snow smiles!

Georgia was so excited about the tree. She kept saying "tree! lights!"

Star talk

Kara (carrying G to the car from school): "Hey Georgia, do you see the star up in the sky?"

Georgia (pointing at star): "Star! I find it! Hi Star! Star! Star! Star! Star! Hi Star!"

(Kara puts Georgia in car seat)

Georgia: "Bye bye star!"

Big News

O.K. First let me say I feel slightly guilty for posting this so all the world can see. Second, I am slightly disturbed by the things that make Brendan and I jump up and down with excitement.

Here it goes...please forgive me baby girl...

Georgia has asked for and used the potty successfully three evenings in a row!

She is so proud and keeps saying "Big girl. Big potty. I read on potty."

Conversations with little G

Georgia was sitting in her chair tonight reading an Elmo book.

"Are you ready for bed?" I asked.

"No! I read book!" she said decisively.

So saucy...

*****
Here is a conversation in the car this weekend:

Brendan: "I love you Georgia"
Georgia: "I love you Mommy!"
Kara: "I love you Georgia!"
Georgia: "I love you Mommy!"
Kara: "I love you Georgia!"

(pause)

Brendan: "I love you Georgia!"
Georgia: "I love you Mommy!"
Kara: "I love you Georgia!"

(pause)

Kara: "I love you Daddy!"
Georgia: "I love you Daddy!"

*****
Kara: "Georgia, what's in mama's belly?"
Georgia: "Baby"
Kara: "What's in your belly?"
Georgia: "Baby"
Kara: "No, no. A baby is only in mama's belly. You have a waffle in your belly."
Georgia: "Mama, baby"
Kara: "Right, a baby is in Mama's belly. What's in Daddy's belly?"
Georgia: "Baby"
Brendan: "No honey, muscles."
