CA Visit
Georgia Quinn, and Mama spent a week and a half out in CA. Auntie Dana flew with us from Boston and Grandma Gaye flew back. It was so much fun! Here are a few pics (other than the fishing pics posted earlier).

Grandpa Kirk took Georgia for her first fishing trip. He bought her the cutest Dora pole and took her shopping for bait. They practiced casting and reeling all day on Saturday and then headed up to the great grandparents pond on Sunday. She caught 3 fish!

Georgia's first fish!

Grandpa helped her hold the pole but Georgia did all the reeling!

Second fish out of three!

Georgia was very patient in between bites and even let Grandpa hold the pole for awhile.

Swans
A family of swans has settled down in our town pond. Georgia loves to go look at them. The other days we saw that they had two babies and five more eggs in their nest! We came back to take some pics. We have to drag Georgia away every time we come visit them. Boy is she an animal lover (although she told me yesterday she doesn't like flies, bugs, or bees).
Georgia admiring the swans from the sidewalk. There is usually a crowd of 20 people looking at the sweet family.
Here is the family from afar. One of the birds is swimming next to the nest with the two babies (according to G this is the Mama). The other (G says it is the Daddy) is sitting on the eggs in the nest.

Here is a close up of the two babies already hatched.

If you look closely at this pic, you can see one of the greenish/brownish eggs as the swan resettles on the nest. Quite a nest!

The babies got cold and climbed up the nest to snuggle under the "Daddy" swan with their unhatched brothers and sisters.

One of the babies peeked their head out from under the Daddy after warming up.

Quinn 6 Weeks Old
Quinn will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. Time is flying by! Here some pics from his 6th week. He can hold his head up steady and likes looking at himself in the mirror. He also bats away at the toys in his little gym. He loves to cuddle and still sleeps like a champ.

Quinn looking in his crib mirror.

Who is that in the mirror?

He loves to look out the window when swinging in his swing.

Do you think those eyes are gonna be blue?

He sleeps in the "touchdown" position just like his big sister.

Glitter Art!
Georgia and I worked up a new art activity called Glitter Art. Basically one trickles glue on paper, pours glitter over it, and then shakes off the extra glitter. Georgia added her own flair to this original activity by spreading the glitter and glue around with her hand. It turned out to be a very sticky and sparkly affair.

Mothers Day
We had a nice relaxing Mother's Day puttering around the house and running various errands as a family. I learned a few things as well. First, I braved my first attempt at making Ebelskivers (a round Danish pancake) with my new pan (thanks for the early b-day gift Grandma Sandy!). They turned out to be easy to make (I'm not so sure it would have been easy without the sticks) and super delicious (pic below). Second, I learned that most moms don't shop for diapers on Mothers Day. I've never seen Babies R Us so deserted on a weekend!

Georgia gave me a paper flower she made at school. It was beautiful and she was so proud to give it to me (although she wasn't as thrilled about taking a picture with it).
Quinn gave me a good nights sleep (8 hours!)

Here is a pic of the maiden batch of Ebelskivers. Rasberry filled and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Georgia thought they were doughnuts. Yum Yum.

Hiccups and Fish
Hiccups and fish. Ah, the little things in life.
Quinn gets hiccups all the time. Here are some on video.
Georgia and her new fish "Sock" (she named him). She loves to feed Sock every night. As you can see on the video, she also likes to try and catch him. She has also started helping us feed Rocky.
